Dr. Matthew J. Shields began his medical practice here and was frequently called upon to treat coal-miners at accident sites. Dr. Shields soon saw the need for timely treatment of injuries on-site that could be performed by properly trained co-workers until professionals arrived. This high school is in a community located north of Jersey City and across the Hudson River from Manhattan Island.<br />I've been told they filmed the Sopranos here.
